Resetting your Samsung Galaxy S3 can be helpful in the event your device is experiencing problems or you just want to restore your phone back to its default factory settings. Method 1 of 3: Reset from the Settings Menu

   • If you have the screen lock feature enabled on your device, you will be prompted to enter your password or PIN code before you can continue.

Method 2 of 3: Reset when Powered Off

   Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S3.

   Press and hold down the “Power” button, “Home” button, and the “Volume Up” button.

   Wait for your phone to vibrate, then release only the “Power” button.

   Wait for the Android System Recovery screen to appear, then release the “Home” and “Volume Up” keys.
